I have worked and volunteered in the animal and pet care industry for over 20 years. I took an ROP course on Animal Care and Husbandry way back in 1988 and began “grandfathering” into becoming a Vet Tech that same year. In that time I’ve worked as a dog bather at a Groomers, managed a No Kill Animal Shelter, worked as a Receptionist and Vet Tech at several Pet Hospitals in three different states and been a Pet Sitter. I also became a the resident cat groomer at one hospital when the groomer discovered that I was better at it than she was. Yep, that’s right. I can make your cat look completely silly with the precision only a professional can pull off. 
I was fortunate enough to work at the Laurel Pet Hospital in West Hollywood, California for 8 years as a Receptionist and Vet Tech (and cat groomer of course.) During that time they sent me to continuing education courses. I attended many classes on different topics from diet to training. It was by far the best place I have ever worked. The Veterinarians there were always encouraging me to learn new things because the philosophy there was that the staff would take that education and use it to educate the clients. The owner Dr. Lee Calsyn was trying to encourage me to go to Veterinary School so he taught more than anyone. If you live in the Los Angeles area I would encourage you to take your pets there because it’s a wonderful Pet Hospital that really does care about the well being of your pets.
I also live in a zoo. I like to tell people that I have 8 dogs, 9 cats, 10 fish, 1 happy child and 1 ticked off husband. All of the different headers you see on my page are of my own pets, past and present. You’ll get to know each of my fur babies through different postings and probably come to love them almost as much as we do. Any products I review will have been pet tested and approved in my home unless stated otherwise.
